VISION AND VALUES
Our vision of a good life for all underpins every service and program we provide as well as the work of all of our staff. We believe that to live a good life, people need more than just the bare essentials of day-to-day living.
At UnitingCare Community Options, we assist people to remain living in their own homes and community, with the support and care of friends and family, by helping people hold and develop valued roles, and by supporting people to pursue their personal goals.
Our Vision is to achieve a Good Life for All.
Our Mission is to work with vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals and their families so that they can live a valued and meaningful life and remain connected to their community.
We Value:
- the uniqueness and value of every individual;
- right relationships that enable people to be influential in their own support arrangements and ensure they are treated with dignity and respect;
- the strengths and abilities of all;
- creativity and innovation in the pursuit of our goals;
-
transparency and accountability.
Our work with older people, people with disabilities and carers is not unique to UnitingCare Community Options. But take a closer look at our work and you’ll soon find that our approach incorporates a truly individualised approach. When our staff work with someone, their humanity, strengths, capacities and interests are fundamental to every bit of planning, coordination, assistance and support that is provided.
You’ll notice just how deeply ingrained this principle is when you speak to our partnership workers and other staff--their passion for working with people rather than diagnoses or funding packages is obvious. You’ll also notice it in the approach our staff take when they work with you. Our work begins with a conversation rather than an approach that seeks a problem to fix.
A genuine commitment to achieving a Good Life for All is fundamental to our work and the culture of the organization. Together we can help people imagine and reach goals and ultimately live happier, more fulfilled lives living and participating in their communities.
To see what we mean when we talk about starting with your strengths and interests, why not take a look at some of the testamonials in our Ageing, Disability and Carer sections.
