Learning and Training
Our Learning and Training team is the public face of our commitment to furthering knowledge in the community sector. Each year we run a range of training events featuring local and international speakers who address topics relevant to the work that we do, and the lives of our participants.
The work of our Learning and Training team is focused both on ensuring that our staff are up to date with the latest developments and discoveries in the community sector, and on sharing that knowledge more widely with staff from other organisations and with the participants we support.
CURRENT TRAINING PROGRAMS
Most recently, our Learning and Training team has been delivering training to a range of organisations around Consumer-Directed Care and our experiences through the People at Centre Stage project. This training is currently available both as a training kit and as a complete training package delivered by experienced case managers.

Our Training staff have also been involved in the co-development of an Asset-Based Community Development training program in partnership with the Uniting Church and with funding from the Uniting Church SHARE Appeal. This program focuses on teaching people how to use the strengths and abilities of the community around them. The training program is available as a DVD for use by other community organisations.

OTHER TRAINING EVENTS
One area that we’ve recently begun developing is a series of training resources for other organisations to use independently of our internal and external training seminars. One of the goals of this is to allow organisations in other states to benefit from the work that we do.
One of our current projects is the development of a training program based around our internal staff training on a range of topics such as person-centredness, strengths-based work, safeguarding and more. Keep an eye on the site for updates from the training team.
